About Us
Don Arthurs
|
In 1943 Don Arthurs joined Keep Brothers, a Birmingham firm of exporters, where he worked for Oscar Hogg.
Don was called for National Service in 1946, which included infantry tours of Egypt and Cyprus.
Don returned to Keep Brothers in 1948 and worked there until 1952 when Mr Hogg invited him to come and work
at Newhall Agency.
Initial emphasis was on trade with New Zealand and the Pacific Islands but this was diverted in 1952 when
Don saw the announcement in the Daily Telegraph that the Shell Oil Company was investing in the Delta region
of Nigeria. He continued to develop many valuable trading relationships in Nigeria and neighbouring countries.
Don Arthurs became a Director in 1958 and has subsequently guided the company through many political,
economic and technological changes.
